I joined the Otesaga staff as away to supplement the highs and lows of selling real estate.
I've met people visiting Cooperstown for the first time - families continuing their annual traditions - 12 year olds that were tired and cranky, yet pumped to be back on the field with their friends -and experienced a wife yelling “Hey guys! Meet Mr. (Ken “Hawk”) Harrelson! He gave Daddy the nickname The Big Hurt”! This, of course, was Frank Thomas’ wife, Megan. I got to know them as their 12 year old son was competing during a grueling week of rain delays and 2am games. The Thomas Family was adding a chapter to their family memories, just like everyone else.
Before leaving, Megan’s mom proudly showed me her new t-shirt “My grandson hit 5 home runs in Cooperstown!”
I’m not going to lie… working the 2021 inductions and meeting Jeter, Torre, and “my Yankee crew” was surreal. However, I was fully aware and felt privileged to witness the inductees’ boyhood dreams coming true. It was my honor to also help provide all Hall of Famers and guests an oasis to simply relax, eat, drink, and celebrate their common love of baseball.
The Otesaga did a video marketing campaign with the goal of recruiting new employees. Thanks to real estate and fitness, I have a ton of experience of speaking directly into the camera. Though I have never been a housekeeper, I was happy to trade uniforms and help their recruiting efforts!
